Personal

First Introductions

Let me tell you not so much about me directly, but why I do what I do. And why I love it.

First of all, my daughters Nesrine and Maya are the reason I do everything. They gave me life when I created them, and that is an unbelievably powerful thing.

I pour my creative energy into my art and business to show my daughters what it means to be a strong woman in this world, with a voice to do good, and a mission to impact others. I want to show them the light in this life, that there is good everywhere you look if only you see it that way. That beauty is in the moments, in the brushes of stray hairs, the flutter of eyelashes, the drip of juicy fruit down chins. I want them to know that they can do anything they set their minds to, that being a good mom doesn’t mean they can’t have a career but in fact having a passion will only enhance motherhood for them.

And my passion lies in preserving memories.

What I do for the families I serve is to preserve their family legacy.   To allow them to share their family’s story through a visual medium forever.

In an age flooded with images, what photos will be passed down and cherished for generation after generation in your family? Only the best and loveliest images are going to last. The ones you print and frame on your wall. The ones you look at daily to remind you of your own personal Why.  Sometimes when I’ve had a hard day I just lay in bed and look at my favorite pictures of my family and it gives me comfort and perspective. It reminds me of my purpose, and why I keep giving it my all every. single. day. No matter what. Nothing is more sacred, more important. And I know I can’t be the only one!

It is an honor and a privilege to photograph families, and one that I don’t take for granted. It is an intimate space to be let into someone’s family dynamics, to see how a family interacts and to photograph their love and joy. When I’m making images, I love finding creative composition, mixed with movement and moments, to tell a family narrative through images.

For better or worse: tell your story.
